Send a question about your houseplants or leave feedback on the guides. We read every message and reply during office hours. If you would rather look first, the address, phone, email and a map of the office are on this page too.

Wilder Plant Guide is an informational resource for Hong Kong apartment and office dwellers who want to choose, place and care for low-maintenance plants in small, light-limited rooms.

Send a message

Tell us the room, the light and how often you water. The more you share, the more useful the reply. Fields marked as required must be filled in before you can send.

We use your name and email only to answer this message. Nothing is added to a mailing list, and you can ask us to delete the message at any time by replying to our answer.

Read the Privacy Policy for the full detail on how messages are stored.

If you are writing about a plant that looks unwell, mention how long it has been in the current pot and whether the soil feels wet or dry a few centimetres down.

After sending you will see a confirmation page, so you know the message arrived.

Before you write, a quick check may answer it

Most questions we receive are about one of six things. If your question is already covered, the guide below will often give you the answer faster than we can.

Questions about writing to us

Short answers on timing, privacy and what happens after you press send.

How quickly do you reply to a message?

Messages sent during working hours, Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, usually get an answer the same day or the next working day. Messages that arrive over a weekend or on a public holiday wait until the office opens again.

What happens to the details I put in the form?

Your name, email and message are stored so that we can reply to you and keep a record of the exchange. They are not sold, rented or passed to anyone for marketing. The consent checkbox on the form is how you agree to that storage, and you can withdraw it later by replying to our answer and asking us to delete the message.

Can you identify a plant from a photo I send?

Describe the plant in words instead: leaf shape and size, whether the stems are upright or trailing, and how the plant sits in its pot. We work from written descriptions and from the guides on this site, and we will point you to the closest match we can identify from what you describe.

Can I visit the office without an appointment?

Call or email before you come so that someone is free to meet you. The address on this page is an office rather than a shop, and there is no plant stock kept on site for sale.

I spotted a mistake in one of the guides. Where do I report it?

Send it through the form with the guide name in the message. Corrections to watering advice, light levels and repotting timing are the ones we act on fastest, because they affect what a reader does next. Thank you for taking the time.

Still unsure? Start with a guide

If your question is about a plant you have not chosen yet, or a room you have not measured, the articles are the better first stop. Write to us when you want a second opinion on something specific.
