Terms of Service

This page explains terms of service for visitors of Wilder Plant Guide. It is not marketing copy. Below you will find who runs this site, what you may do with the guides, how the plant articles are written, and how to reach us when something is unclear.

By reading or reusing anything published here you accept the terms on this page. If you do not agree with them, the simple next step is to stop using the site.

Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you browse the guides, follow an internal link, or send us a message through the contact page. There is no account to create and no purchase to make, so acceptance simply means you keep reading on these conditions.

The terms may change as the site grows. The version published on this page is the one that applies at the moment you visit. If a change matters to how you reuse our material, we will note it here rather than announce it somewhere else.

Who runs this site

Wilder Plant Guide is an independent information project about houseplants for compact flats and offices. It is not a shop, a nursery, or a delivery service, and nothing on these pages is a sales offer.

What this site publishes

Written guides on plant choice, placement in small rooms, light, watering, repotting, and a workable care routine. Every guide is editorial content, not a service you order from us.

Legal notices, takedown requests, and questions about these terms go to the same address. Write from the email you want the reply sent to, and include the page you are asking about.

What you may do with our guides

The articles exist to be read and used. You can follow the advice at home, print a page for your own reference, quote a short passage with a link back to this site, or point a friend to a guide that answers their question.

Allowed without asking

  • Reading, saving, or printing a guide for your own home or office use.
  • Sharing a link to any article with neighbours, colleagues, or a plant group.
  • Quoting a sentence or two in a non-commercial post, credited to Wilder Plant Guide with the page linked.

Please ask first

  • Republishing a full article, or a large part of one, on another website.
  • Using our photographs in commercial material, packaging, or paid advertising.
  • Feeding whole pages into a service that republishes or resells our text.

If you are unsure which side of that line your use falls on, write to us before you publish. A short email now is easier than a takedown later.

Plant care guidance has limits

We write from experience with small flats, low light, and the plants that survive both. We cannot see your room, your window direction, or how often you actually water.

Recommendations on light, watering, and repotting describe what usually works indoors. A plant's real result depends on the species, the pot, the soil mix, the season, and how much light reaches the leaves. Treat every guide as a starting point you adjust after a few weeks of watching your own plant.

We do not diagnose plant disease, treat infestations remotely, or promise that a specific plant will thrive in a specific room. If a plant is failing, the fastest route is to compare the symptoms with the relevant guide and then adjust one thing at a time — water first, light second, pot last.

Any cost, availability, or delivery detail you see on a retailer's page belongs to that retailer. We do not sell plants, take orders, or hold stock.

Ownership of the text and photographs

The wording on this site, the order of the guides, and the photographs we publish belong to Wilder Plant Guide unless a page credits someone else. Our permission covers reading and personal use, not resale or redistribution under another brand.

Plant and product names that appear in the guides belong to their owners and are used only to describe a species or a common label. Naming a plant does not mean we are connected to the grower, the breeder, or any retailer that sells it.

If you believe something here copies your work, write to [email protected] with the page address and a short description. We will look at it and, where the claim holds, correct or remove the material.

Terms in more detail

Six questions that come up most often when readers want to know how far our permission stretches.

Do I need permission to link to a guide? Open

No. Linking to any page on this site is welcome, whether you link from a blog, a forum answer, a shared note, or a message to a neighbour. You do not need to ask, and you do not need to tell us afterwards.

Can I translate an article for my own group? Open

For a private group with no commercial purpose, write to us first and describe where the translation will be posted and who will see it. We usually agree, provided the translation credits Wilder Plant Guide and links back to the original page.

Does the site sell plants or take orders? Open

No. This is an information site. There is no basket, no checkout, and no delivery. If a guide mentions where a plant is commonly sold, that is background detail, not an offer from us.

How current are the guides? Open

We review the six care guides as seasons change and correct anything that no longer matches what we see in our own plants. When a guide is rewritten in a way that changes the advice, we note the revision on that page.

What happens if these terms change? Open

The revised terms replace the earlier version on this page from the moment they are published. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated wording. If you keep a copy of an article, check back here before you reuse it.

Which law applies to these terms? Open

The operator of this site is registered in the United States, and these terms are written to be read under that registration. Nothing here removes rights you already hold where you live, and a question about jurisdiction can always be sent to us in writing first.
